A wrench designed to apply precise torque on bolts, nuts etc. There is a wide variety of torque wrenches in their size and design. Bicycle industry generally deals with relatively small torque because of the smaller parts of a bike as opposed to e.g. car or lorry parts. It is important to apply precise torque on those bicycle parts that need to maintain structural durability such as crank spindles, fork steerers, handlebars etc. Note: It is extremely important to apply precise torque on carbon fibre bike parts as overtightening bolts can create microcracks in this material leading to bigger cracks over the course of time and eventually failure of a part.
