BB is a common acronym for a Bottom Bracket.

Task Summary

The high stress and thread attachment of some BBs, combined with the ingress of water and other contaminants at the BB shell, can lead to seized threads between the BB shell and the cups . There are lots of methods for getting the BB moving again. The following methods apply to cup and cone 'old' style BBs, but many of these tricks will work for cartridge BBs as well. (Outboard BBs, eccentric BBs and BB30s or 90s are much less likely to seize in the first place.)
