BB is a common acronym for a Bottom Bracket.
Task Summary
It is important to distinguish between a BB unit that is worth refurbishing and one that is simply designed to be thrown away and replaced. If you are working on a more expensive type of Cartridge BB Unit you will be able to service the bearing races, but generally this type of unit is a “fit and forget” and refurbishing is not possible. If the unit is serviceable, please contact the manufacturer and follow the service manual.
