BB is a common acronym for a Bottom Bracket.
Task Summary
Once you have removed the cranks for your outboard BB unit, you can then replace the bearing cups. Generally, you will not need to replace the crank arms (which include the spindle on this type of BB).There are three main types of outboard BB manufacturer:
