BB - common acronym for Bottom Bracket.

BMX BBs are a mixture of open bearing and sealed bearing types. BMX frames come in a number of shell sizes and types of fit:

American (US BB)
The original BB for BMX, also referred to as “Pro size”. The bearing rests in a cup that is pressed into the frame. This standard uses both sealed and loose bearing types.
Spanish (SPAN)
Spanish BBs use a bearing that presses directly into the frame without the use of a cup. Spanish bearings are larger than the European bearings, but smaller than an American bearing.
Mid
Mid BBs use an American sized bearing that presses directly into the frame without the use of a cup, leaving a flush fit.
European (EURO)
Euro is another name for 'British Standard ISO'. The cup thread is the same as other sizes of BB commonly used in the UK but the spindle attachment may be different.
