| Step 01: routing the cable |
| All Pages |
Task Summary
As the process for routing cable along the the bars and frame for a drop bar caliper brake is exactly the same as a drop bar cantilever brake - until you get to the position of the barrel adjuster istelf - we have used the cantilever example here which you can follow step by step. The first thing to do however, is to follow the steps to route the cable and housing through the levers and then you are ready to route along the bars and into the brakes as shown here.
Front Brake
Rear Brake
WORKSHOP TIP: It is important to use a pear end brake cable.
WORKSHOP TIP: As a beginner it is easy to confuse your cables! Notice on intergrated levers that the gear cable as well as the brake cable comes out of them. The brake cable protrudes from the back of the lever and needs to be routed along the bar and down.
